More details about this adapter kit:
- Compatible with GM Gen III and Gen IV blocks (including long crank variants, i.e. LQ4)
- Compatible with every Dodge 8HP70 (2015+ 5.7, 6.4 engine) and 8HP45 (2015+ 3.6)
Why use a Dodge 8HP70 instead of a BMW one?
Simply said, in North America, no other variant comes close in terms of price and availability! Yes, it's bigger, but we make it work.
All 3.6 V6 are 8HP45 (845RE). All 5.7 or 6.4 are 8HP70.
- 2015+ Dodge Challenger RWD 3.6 V6, 5.7 and 6.4 V8;
- 2015+ Dodge Charger RWD3.6 V6, and 5.7 V8;
- 2015+ Chrysler 300 RWD 3.6 V6, and 5.7 V8;
- Not compatible with the 8HP75 transmission from RAM 2500HDs;
- Not compatible with 8HP90 transmissions (Hellcats).
What else is required for this swap?
As with all our previous kits, we are developing an entire lineup of bolt-on model specific components.
Here is a quick list of what you'll need or think about before doing the swap:
- Dodge Transmission, including the Torque Converter with the Perfect Tuning Adapter kit
- OEM Ring gear: 11.5" or 10.75" 168 tooth (ATP Z498 or Z269)
- Non-shrouded starter
- Transmission mount (available now) and cross member (soon...)
- Driveshaft
- Transmission oil cooler, fittings and hoses with thermostat (available now)
- OEM Shifter or sequential shifter or shift paddles (available now)
- Transmission controller (see below)
- New oil pan/Filter (available now)
- Transmission Oil compatible with zf 8 speed transmissions (available now)
- If a virtual clutch is desired: Clutch pedal with position sensor and simulator (available now)

What controllers do you recommend?
MaxxECU: If all you want in a transmission that works well for the street, with OEM-like performance, this is a perfect solution for you. With a MaxxECU, you'll need to rent the transmission flashing tool, available on our website, and you're set!
Turbolamik: If you care about launch control, perfect shifts, and endless transmission capabilities, you might want to consider a dedicated TCU. Although more expensive since it's a separate add-on, you'll love the versatility it offers. We even offer remote tuning to get you started!
